Processing Information

These materials were received by the University of Maryland in 1972, though no record of an official transfer date is available. At the time of preliminary inventory creation, materials for this accession were located in one record storage box and two oversized flat boxes. Material in Box 1 was ordered mostly in acid-free folders and envelopes, as well as a leather latch box. Pins, postcards, and other small material in the folders were housed in Mylar sleeves. The order of these materials was maintained. Some Mylar sleeves were replaced with acid-free envelopes for more supportive housing. Folders were assigned descriptive titles. Some materials originally located in Box 2 were moved to Box 1 due to their smaller size and relevance of materials. Material in Box 2 was rehoused into a larger oversized box to accommodate the size of materials. The original order of these materials was maintained. Duplicates of the “B&C Union Label Propaganda Poster” were discarded. Some materials originally located in Box 1 were moved to Box 2 due to their size, preservation needs, and relevance of materials. Box 3 contained plaques of very similar descriptions, and were housed in chronological order. In 2014, oversize charters were given preservation treatment, digitized, and rehoused in large Mylar sleeves.
