Found in 9 Collections and/or Records:
Series 4 contains the records of the work of the ICFTU International Solidarity Fund from 1958 to 1968. While most of the material falls into the category of near print, it does provide a way of looking at the work of the ICFTU in assisting workers facing economic and political repression.
Series 9 contains an almost complete set of ICFTU Circulars dating from 1950 to 1963.
Series 9 materials reflect the AFL and AFL-CIO's evolving foreign policy and Meany's concerns in the international field from the postwar period to 1960, that is, from the later years of his tenure as AFL secretary-treasurer through the early years of his AFL and AFL-CIO Presidency. Types of materials include letters, memoranda, and reports.
Series 1 contains 17 folders of material dating from 1959 to 1970 having to do with basic ICFTU administrative matters including the appointment of delegates, election of officers, and conduct of some of the committee.
Series 2 contains the major portion of the collection and includes the minutes of the ICFTU Executive Board, committees, Congress, General Council and miscellaneous other meetings and conferences. There is very little direct correspondence, although sometimes the minutes contain notes taken by various persons who attended the meetings.
Series 10 contains a few photgraphs from the early years of the ICFTU. These photographs were separated from materials in folders in other series and bear the same folder titles.
