Abstract James Bruce (1892-1980) spent most of his life in the world of business and banking, working in both New York and Baltimore. He served variously as president of the Baltimore Trust Company, director of American Airlines, and vice president of the National Dairy Products Corporation. Abstract Australian-born Cyril Scott Fletcher (1904-1991) was a noncommercial, educational television pioneer. He came to educational and instructional broadcasting via Encyclopedia Britannica Films, where he oversaw the creation of films and filmstrips for the classroom. In 1951, Fletcher became president of the Fund for Adult Education, a part of the Ford Foundation.
