Mrs. Herman Lowe was president of the American Federation of Women's Auxiliaries of Labor (AFWAL) from 1937-1951. Herman Lowe is likely her husband's name. Mrs. Lowe's own name is not recorded in the legacy finding aid from the George Meany Memorial Archives. According to Labor's Home Front: The American Federation of Labor During World War II by Andrew E. Kersten (NYU Press, 2009), Mrs. Lowe never publically stated her given name.
