Djuna Barnes at the home of Coburn Britton -- (On versos: Typed inscription: "Djuna Barnes--a snap-shot by an unknown, taken about 1971, in the winter,/at the home of Mr. Coby Britton, editor of 'Prose' (defunct now)./Someones shoulder (we are sitting on a sofa) is taking up my right side./ Lamp and shade sticking up on my left side. on the right side of Russian cap'd head,/what appears to be hair back of ear, is not--as hair is short cut. The thing is/difficult with fuzziness, say such as the tooth that seems to shine out of/the smiling mouth, as if it were gold capped---it isn't. Must be light unfortunately/making it seem so. The eyes seem to be shut (because smiling?)/(weight about 90 pounds)/I do not think you can do much with it./The white blob on chest, is a yellow rose, given by host." Second print, handwritten inscription: "Coburn Britton's/on coming out of Margaret/Anderson's last book./Djuna Barnes, 1970./Two copies-glossy./Return to Djuna Barnes--/5 Patchin Place,/New York, N.Y. 10011."), circa 1970-1971
