Correspondence, 1955-1980
This series contains letters, postcards, telegrams, memoranda, and greeting cards. Most of the correspondence is that exchanged between Katherine Anne Porter and Seymour Lawrence over the course of twenty-five years. There is also in-house correspondence between Lawrence and his staff at Atlantic Monthly; correspondence between his assistants and Miss Porter; and business correspondence with Cyrilly Abels, Martin, Secker & Warburg, Ltd., and Glenway Wescott. Among other notable correspondents represented in the series are Katherine Cornell, Graham Greene, George Plimpton, and John Prince. Subjects discussed include Miss Porter's health and publishing projects. The correspondence is arranged chronologically.
