Photographs, 1937-1956 and undated, bulk: 1948-1990 and undated
This series contains photographs (including many duplicates), most featuring Sioussat either alone or with friends and collegues. Includes both posed and candid shots. Some oversize photos are in Artifacts Box #5.
The family and friends items are photos, circa 1900, of various ancestors of Sioussat's including: Mary Hill Wilson, Aunt Bertha, Aunt Blanche and Uncle Henry as well as a few unidentifieds. Also includes photos of some of HS's longtime friends, including Miriam Hopkins, Shirley and Bryan Houston, Warren Lee Pierson, Jane Weeks, Dorothy Fine, Helen Smith, Murray Gart, Aunt Bertha, Carter Doswell, Fay Wells, Jessica Dubrick, Linton Wells II and Linda Wells, Muriel Brewster, Dorothy and Reuben Fine, Elsie Jackson, Bryant Halsey, Linton Wells III, and Clare DeLacy, and some unidentifieds. (HS is pictured in some of these photos.)
Also within this series are various random images, many featuring Sioussat, including: receiving her Peabody Award (pictured with Bennett Cerf); at the 1955 Peabody luncheon pictured with Pauline Frederick, George Gobel, Fess Parker and John Daly; in a vintage auto with an unidentified woman, inscribed "Dallas Airport and Statler-Hilton Hotel/1.15.56"; with Don Hollenbeck; with James Farley and Mrs. Edwin Hilson (1956); a Bloomingdale's window display promoting "Mikes Don't Bite"; receiving a "National Veteran's Day" citation from Arthur Hull Hayes (1956); with Mark Clark at the World Peace Luncheon (1956); and receiving an award from Seahorn P. Collins of the American Legion (1955), among others.
Also included are stills of: Miriam Hopkins, Elmer Davis and Gary Culman, Fred Allen, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Wendell Wilkie, Sasha Siemel, Mabel Sherman and "Ronnie"; Carlette Carleton; Douglas MacArthur; "The Petersons"; "Grandma McKay"; Jesse Royce Landis; Sandra Storm; H.V. Kaltenborn; Jean Boy, Sen. and Mrs. Gale McGee, Jack and Lee Evans, and D. Burton Coley, and others. These do not include Sioussat.

Contains photographic prints, all 10" x 20", or larger of: the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Detroit, October 27, 1931; Explorers Club Banquet in honor of Lincoln Ellsworth at the Waldorf-Astoria, May 12, 1936; Women's Professional Panhellenic dinner on Feb. 3, 1937; Federation for Railway Progress, 2nd Anniversary Dinner, March 2, 1949; and Bon Voyage dinner given by Mrs. Basil O'Connor [for] Dr. and Mrs. Morris Fishbein at the Waldorf, Sept. 27, 1949.

Also contains blow-ups of various shots of HS (enlargements of other photos in the collection that feature HS alone or pictured with Fiorella LaGuardia; Eleanor Roosevelt, Fred Allen, Wendell Wilkie, Alfred Duff Cooper, Jock Whitney and Lord Halifax) and blown-up pages from "Mikes Don't Bite" as well as a multi-color caricature of HS. Many of these poster-size still are accompanied by oversize "captions" printed on cardboard.
