Printed Matter and Notes, 1941-2009

This series consists of published and unpublished materials collected by Paul or Katherine Anne Porter, including clippings, notes, and publications. There are both articles and reviews written by or about Miss Porter, including fiction and nonfiction clipped from publications, and typewritten or manuscript notes she made that describe favorite menus and recipes. There are also annotated menus from one of Miss Porter's hospital stays.

Also included are several folders of material written by Paul Porter. There are two newspaper articles Mr. Porter wrote when he was in college, letters to the editors of various publications, and copies of speeches Mr. Porter has given at events relating to Katherine Anne Porter. Materials collected by Paul Porter, which do not relate to his aunt, include writings about photographer George Platt Lynes and artist Paul Cadmus. The materials have been organized into four groupings: About Katherine Anne Porter, By Katherine Anne Porter, By Paul Porter, and Other Subjects. The groupings are arranged alphabetically; within groupings, files are arranged alphabetically by subject.
