Clippings, 1930-1983 and undated

 Series 4

This series consists of newspaper and magazine clippings by or about Whittemore or collected by him in the course of his career. All clippings have been arranged under four subheadings, "About Whittemore," "By Whittemore," "Collected By Whittemore," and "Reviews." Clippings under each subheading are arranged chronologically.

While there are many insightful articles about or by Whittemore, one of the main highlights of the series is found among "Reviews." Many favorable and/or critical reviews can be found of his works: An American Takes a Walk and Other Poems; Fascination of the Abomination; The Feel of Rock; Fifty Poems Fifty; From Zero to Absolute; The Mother's Breast and the Father's House; Poems, New and Selected; The Poet as Journalist; The Self-Made Man; and, especially, Whittemore's biography of William Carlos Williams, William Carlos Williams: Poet From Jersey.
