This subseries is arranged in seven subject areas: administrative files, annual reports, NPR Board of Directors, budgets, consultant reports on development, funding and finances, and technical operations. Among the administrative documents are procedures manuals, information about the merging of NPR and the Association of Public Radio Stations in 1977, lists of NPR stations, testimony of the NPR oversight hearings, and an undated essay on the history of national public radio. NPR annual reports are included for 1977-1979 and 1981. Budgets include planning budgets, department budgets, and budget revisions. Consultant reports consist of four documents produced by McKinsey & Company, addressing development issues. A significant part of this subseries consists of funding and finance; these include reports and proposals relating to CPB's funding of NPR and comprehensive funding proposals.
