Karayn and Company, Inc., 1974, 1984-1987, and undated
his series concerns the involvement of Karayn and Company, Inc. with the celebration of the Bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution in 1987. The celebration committee, We the People 200 requested proposals in 1984. Karayn and Company first proposed a seven-part mini-series called We, the People, which would recreate the 1787 debate in Philadelphia's Independence Hall which led to the signing of the Constitution. After applying for, but receiving no funding for this proposal, Karayn and Company, Inc. proposed a Student Visitor Program involving twenty students from 30-40 countries. These students would serve as "ambassadors" and would spend four to six weeks in Philadelphia as "witnesses" to the recreation of the Constitution. Again, Karayn and Company applied for but did not receive funding. In addition, this proposal was rejected by the We the People 200 Celebration Committee and the United States Information Agency. Karayn and Company withdrew the proposal.
