Public Broadcasting Oral History Project, 1947-1984
This series contains material generated from Jim Robertson and his wife Anabel Robertson's oral history project in which they interviewed more than 50 people who played important roles in the establishment and development of noncommercial educational broadcasting in the United States. Jim Robertson was also interviewed as part of this project. The project was funded primarily by grants from the CPB, as part of its Congressionally-mandated archival responsibility. Supplemental funding was provided by the Benton Foundation and several private donors. The interviews, which were conducted by Jim Robertson and Anabel Robertson in 1979-82, were the basis of his 1989 book Televisionaries.
