Public Broadcasting History, 1912-2000

This series contains Mayes' collection of documents concerning the history of public broadcasting. The series is divided into two categories. The first category consists of articles and notes about the history. Articles include a 'Play by Play' chronological history of broadcasting from 1931 to 1970, as well as Mayes' personal notes on the Robert Alderman archives at the University of Virginia. The second category is a group of congressional records concerning broadcasting throughout several decades. They include material from the index, appendix, House and Senate records. Materials are arranged by category and chronologically within category.
