Photographs, 1902-1920s
The photographs in this series depict both Lady Ottoline Morrell and a number of her literary friends. The three earliest pictures, all taken around 1900, are individual shots of Morrell. At least one of these was taken in 1902 on her honeymoon. The other three, showing her daughter Julian as well as such literary friends as Siegfried Sassoon, Lytton Strachey, Dorothy Brett, Augustine Birrell, Aldous Huxley, H. R. L. Sheppard, Bertrand Russell, Clive... Bell, and, perhaps, Frank "Toronto" Prewett and Andre Gide were taken between approximately 1917 and the late 1920s. The photographs are arranged chronologically.
