University of Maryland Athletics Photographs, 1893-1973 and undated
The University of Maryland Athletics series contains photographs of cheerleading; men's baseball; men's basketball; men's boxing; men's football; men's lacrosse; men's rifle team; men's soccer; men's swimming; men's tennis; men's indoor and outdoor track; women's archery; women's basketball; women's bowling; women's rifle team; women's softball; and women's tennis. Though the series covers the years between 1893 and 1973, a majority of the photos date from 1910 to 1950. The football photographs includes shots of the 1957 "Queen's Game," attended by Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip.
This series is arranged alphabetically into four groupings: "Athletic Events," "Cheerleading," men's sports, and women's sports. Within the last two groupings, arrangement is alphabetical by name of sport.
