University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) Memos and Correspondence, 1914-1976

Subseries 3 consists of memos and correspondence received by the Library Director's Office from various offices, academic departments, and committees on the College Park campus. The first part of subseries 3 is arranged chronologically, while the second part of it is arranged alphabetically by office or committee.

Subjects include physical improvements to the library, budget concerns, monetary allotments for book purchases, complaints about library service, committee reports, the development of the branch libraries (Engineering and Physical Sciences Library and the Chemistry Library) and Hornbake Library; as well as the establishment of the School of Library Science, and the introduction of library automation.
