Correspondence, 1898-1965
The earliest correspondence in the series consists of eight letterpress books, dating from July 1898 to November 1904 and containing copies of outgoing correspondence of the state pathologist. There is one letter from the United States Department of Agriculture to Professor J. B. S. Norton of the Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station, dated July 3, 1917. Later correspondence, dating from 1937 to 1965, includes the incoming and outgoing correspondence of faculty and staff members, as well as incoming letters from former students of the department, a number of whom were serving in World War II. Arrangement is chronological.
