Briefing Books, 1968-1973 and undated

The briefing books in Subseries 12 are comprised of information gathered by Mr. Agnew's staff on a particular issue or in preparation for a domestic or foreign trip. A briefing book typically consists of background data, copies of press clippings, sample questions and responses, fact sheets and summaries, "scoring points", "S.O.B. questions", statistics, position papers, memoranda, proposed plans, Republican Party points of view, and organization charts. Included in the subseries are books on campaign and general domestic issues, the economy, housing, foreign policy, desegregation, intergovernmental relations, health, welfare, and the federal budget. Also included are press briefings and materials prepared on various states, cities, and regions of the United States.
