University of Maryland Campus History, 1859-1979 and undated
This series contains correspondence, notes, and news clippings documenting significant events in the history of the University of Maryland. Mr. Bissell's interest in campus history stemmed from his undergraduate education at the Maryland State College of Agriculture between 1916 and 1920. The series includes a list of publications of the Maryland Agricultural College, 1859 to 1916, which Bissell compiled around 1955. Correspondence and news clippings in the series relate to an agricultural museum begun at the University of Maryland in the 1950s, campus expansion, Gerneaux Hall, the Rossborough Inn, and athletics. The series is arranged alphabetically by document type.
