Art Work, Photographs, Audio Recordings, and Ephemera, 1932-1970 and undated
This series consists of mainly non-print material that C. E. Frazer Clark, Jr., collected, including audio recordings; ephemera; photographs; and art work. Some of the materials are directly related to Hemingway, but others are items inspired by Hemingway. This collection includes three audio recordings (LPs). One is an album of Hemingway, A Portrait in Sound published by CBC radio, and there are two copies of Ernest Hemingway Reading issued by Caedmon Records, Inc.
The single ephemera item is a cancelled check from Ernest Hemingway to long-time friend Evan Shipman for $150.
Photographs contain five black and white photographs of Hemingway at various ages.
There are posters for film adaptations of two of Hemingway's works.
Prints contain signed original woodcut illustrations by Helmut Ackermann of Hemingway's stories The Snows of Kilimanjaro and The Sun Also Rises. There is also a calendar by Helmut Ackermann with twelve illustrations of The Sun Also Rises and The Snows of Kilimanjaro. In addition, there are four drawings, inspired by The Old Man and The Sea, of "The Fish," "The Sea," "The Old Man-one," and "The Old Man-two" by Leonard Baskin, published by the AFI Gallery in New York City.
Within these categories, they are arranged alphabetically by the author's last name or by title.
