Union Departmental Files, 1936-1966 and undated

Responsibility for day-to-day operation of the Industrial Union of Marine and Shipbuilding Workers of America fell to a number of administrative departments designed to handle various functions such as education, organizing and recruiting members, performing research and compiling statistics, and generating publicity. The records of these various departments comprise Series 2 and have been divided into seven subseries alphabetically by department name. Types of documentation found in the departmental files include correspondence; minutes; reports; regulations; press releases; publications; and analyses.
