Miscellaneous Records, 1936-1964

Series 7 brings together various reference files maintained to serve the IUMSWA's informational needs and records documenting the union's interaction with a variety of labor and other organizations. Specific subseries are devoted the IUMSWA's linkage with the Marine Draftsmen's Association, Provisional Metal Workers' Council, and the United Railroad Workers of America. Also of particular interest are the records of the "Save the Union Committee", which was formed by dissident IUMSWA members dissatisfied with the union's national leadership and policies adopted at the eleventh national convention. Types of documentation found in the eight subseries of Series VII include correspondence, reports, publications, minutes, speeches, legal records, and newspaper clippings.
