Manuscript Drafts and Page Proofs, undated

This series includes annotated proofs of chapters or portions of chapters from a variety of Hosmer's publications. The bulk of the series consists of chapters from Preservation Comes of Age. A single chapter from Presence of the Past and drafts of some of Hosmer's earlier work comprise the remainder of the series. Among the latter are a set of research and bibliographic notes, chapter outlines, an abstract, and other associated material for his dissertation, "Old Houses in America: The Preservation Movement to 1926."

Series III also includes several files that appear to be drafts of other articles or books Hosmer wrote. These include two pages of an article entitled "The One Hundred Year Battle to Save Monticello" and an untitled manuscript regarding the growth of the historical programs of the National Park Service.

The series has been arranged alphabetically by publication title where known and alphabetically by chapter title within each publication division.
