Photographs and Microfilm, 1919-1952 and undated

 Series 6

Series VI includes eight photographs and two reels of microfilm. The photographs date between 1928 and 1952, although a few are undated. They depict: advisory boards active in the restoration of Colonial Williamsburg; a restored garden at Williamsburg; John D. Rockefeller; Historic American Building Survey advisory boards; delegates to the April 1947 organization meeting of the National Council for the Preservation of Historic Sites and Buildings in Washington D.C.

One of the two reels of microfilm consists of late nineteenth-century Levy family correspondence regarding ownership of Monticello. Hosmer obtained this microfilm from the Alderman Library at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in May 1962. The other microfilm is of an article by William Sumner Appleton which had appeared in Art and Archaeology in the May-June 1919 issue.

All photographs have been transferred to the photograph collection, and the microfilm has been transferred to the microform collection.
