Executive Officers, 1924-1982

Subseries 1 consists of records, dating primarily from the 1960s and 1970s, generated by executive officers. These include correspondence and reports of the executive secretary and activities and programs under the direction of that officer, such as branch activities, the business department, and an "expanding program"--a broad term referring to temporary or permanent programs, such as offering fellowships and student assistantships or creating a reference library, designed to increase the effectiveness and influence of the association. This series also includes material on policy and philosophy established by the Executive Board on particular issues and records created by Executive Director Emeritus Alberta Meyer.
