This series is comprised of speeches, in draft and final form, made by Brewster during his term in the Senate. Topics addressed include farming and agriculture in Maryland; education; labor; Veterans affairs; campaigns, including the 1968 Democratic National Convention; aging and social security; Vietnam, including the draft and ending the war; and conservation and the environment, inlcuding the Appalachian Regional Development Act, introduction of legislation to create the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historic Park, Chesapeake Bay blue crab fishing and protection of the Assateague Island National Seashore.
