Clippings, 1909-1969
This series is comprised of loose newspaper clippings and scrapbooks that cover Byrd's life and career as coach, university administrator, political candidate, and commission chairman. In addition, some clippings do not relate directly to Byrd but instead cover news about international issues, regional interests, the University of Maryland, and his successor as university president, Wilson H. Elkins. The material in this subseries dates from 1909 to 1969, but the bulk covers his 1954 gubernatorial campaign.
