 Series 2

This series contains the records of the Student Grange of the University of Maryland, the first group of this type in the United States.

The Student Grange, founded in 1914, was established with four goals:

  1. To benefit the state by increasing the number of Granges and to train future leaders of new and old Granges throughout the state of Maryland.
  2. To help uplift the students morally and mentally.
  3. To provide better representation for the University in the national and state Granges.
  4. To strengthen the Grange movement nationally by organizing new members and chapters.
