Junior Grange, 1927-1945 and undated
The Junior or Juvenile Grange was founded nationally in 1890 for children ages five through fourteen; the Ballenger Junior Grange, established in 1924, was Maryland's first chapter. The aims of the Junior Grange were threefold:
- To help the members become better adults.
- To give the children organization experience.
- To provide recreation.
This series includes short histories of four Junior Granges, Ballenger, Braddock, Glade Valley, and Thurmont, as well as dues records and minutes from the Forest Hill Junior Grange. These materials are arranged alphabetically by Grange.
