Conferences, Trips, Official Visits, and Events, 1952-1973

This series contains papers, such as personal notes, letters and memoranda, newspaper clippings, publications, and background information relating to trips and visits made by McKeldin during his political career. The bulk of material relates to three major conferences which McKeldin attended in the 1960s: the White House Conference, "To Fulfill These Rights" (June 1966); the National League of Cities (Las Vegas, Nevada, December 1966); and the South Vietnamese Elections of September 1967.

Also included in this series are programs from events, such as church services, high school and college commencements, social organization dinners, and other affairs that McKeldin attended during his career. They are separated into two groups: programs from events that McKeldin attended and programs from events at which McKeldin was a speaker.

Arrangement is chronological by the date of the conference or event, and then by type of material. The event programs have been placed at the end of the series.
