Family Correspondence and Personal Documents, 1871-1975
This series includes letters exchanged between Reckord and his mother during World Wars I and II. There is also correspondence between him, his daughter, and his son-in-law during World War II. A group of letters expresses sympathy to Reckord upon the death of his wife, Bessie Payne Roe Reckord, in 1943. Other materials consist of awards, citations, and commission appointments; biographical data; the Reckord family coat of arms; deeds to family land in Harford County, Maryland; material relating to the Maryland Jockey Club; newspaper clippings; Reckord's retirement diary, begun on January 1, 1966; and obituaries marking Reckord's death on September 8, 1975.
Arrangement is alphabetical by folder. The original order has been kept within folders.
