Correspondence, 1926-1935
This series consists of the correspondence generated during Ritchie's tenure as Governor of Maryland. The majority of the files date from 1934, indicating that the series is far from complete.
Key subjects include: politics, in particular the 1932 Democratic National Convention and Ritchie's unsuccessful bid for a fifth term as governor; request for personal favors and materials; political advice; speaking engagements; and various administrative matters. Subseries I includes letters received by C.W. Curry and N.W. Baxter, leaders of the Ritchie-for-President Committee of Maryland. Correspondents include M.A. Record, H.C. Byrd, D.G. Roe, R.A. Sindall, H. Snyderman, J. E. Semmes, T.B. Symons, and J.E. Ray.
Arrangement is chronological within each subseries.
