Biographical Information, 1849, 1923, and undated
Two of the items in this series tell something of the lives of one Mason and one Swann in their youth.
In 1849 John Francis Mason (1828-1897) attended the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University) and received a certificate from the Cliosophic Society, a student organization, recognizing his "work and study in the arts and sciences". In 1923 his grandson, Thomas Swann (1889-1961), prepared a one page vita. Like his maternal (Mason) grandfather and great-grandfather, he attended Princeton University. He received a law degree from Harvard University and following three years of Army service, Swann worked in investment and commercial banking.
Arrangement is alphabetical by topic, with one item housed separately in a map case.
