Certificates, 1916-1951 and undated
This series contains certificates, awards, and other documents obtained by Tydings throughout his lifetime. Included are Tydings' enlistment papers, a paper appointing Tydings as Lieutenant Colonel of Infantry in 1918, Tydings' appointment to the U. S. Congress in 1924, a certificate for crossing the Equator in 1934, and Tydings' 1934 award of the Distinguished Service Cross for "Extraordinary Heroism in Military Operations Against an Armed Enemy of the United States north of Verdun, France, in October 1918."
