Scrapbooks, 1911-1957

 Sub-Series

This subseries consists of scrapbooks of newspaper clippings documenting Tydings' personal, public, and political affairs and interests. McCarthyism, election campaigns, state and local politics, and Tydings' community activities are all encompassed in this subseries. Also included are some of Tydings' personal and political writings not found in Series II, Subseries 2.

Tydings or his staff designated the scrapbooks either "personal" or "political" and arranged the articles in roughly chronological, rather than topical, order. These scrapbooks have been microfilmed.
