Sears Data Collection Sheets, 1986 and undated

This series contains data of each house type included in the book. The authors collected the exterior and interior specifications of the representative architectural types. This data was then recorded onto a standardized form along with the name of each house identified in the Sears catalogs. Black and white photographs were taken of the pages of the catalogs that depicted the exterior views of each type, as well as some of the floor plans of the houses. They are the images that were eventually used in the layout of the book. This series has been arranged by the authors according to the taxonomy they devised for identifying house types. Photocopies of the catalog photographs are attached to the appropriate data sheet. The originals are located in Series V.
