Photographs, circa 1983-1991
This series contains photographic materials in several formats that Reveal used in his research. Three disbound photograph notebooks are included in this series. Most of the photographs depict plant specimens from British herbaria and other documentary evidence. The negatives correspond with the photographs in the collection. Color slides depict botanical specimens gathered from colonial Maryland that Reveal studied at the Sloane Herbarium. Two x-rays of Cassia Marilandia L. from the Linnean Herbarium allowed Reveal to count the plant specimen's ovules. The glass slides reproduce portraits of notable botanists. Arrangement is alphabetical by format type, and, within format types, the arrangement reflects original order.
