Richard Sorge: Forever a Stranger and "Master Spy", 1942-1983 and undated
Series 6 contains notes, interviews, correspondence, and manuscripts related to Prange's research on Richard Sorge, a Soviet spy in Germany and Japan in the years leading up to World War II. The materials in the series were created or compiled by Prange as he was preparing to write a book about Sorge called Forever a Stranger: The Story of Richard Sorge and the Soviet Spy Ring in Japan, a book that was never published. A condensed version of the book was published in the January 1967 Reader's Digest under the title "Master Spy." This material was later published posthumously by Donald M. Goldstein and Katherine V. Dillon in 1984 under the title Target Tokyo: The Story of the Sorge Spy Ring. This series in arranged in two subseries. Photographs related to Richard Sorge and Prange's research are located in series 9.
