Department of Agronomy, 1928-circa 1952

Series II consists mainly of materials related to the Department of Agronomy's work with the Agricultural Experiment Station. Crop projects discussed include sugar and regular corn, grass, wheat, oats, barley, hay, and annual legumes. Detailed yield percentages are provided for barley (1948-1952), winter oats (1945-1952), and spring oats (1950-1952). Also discussed is the location and amount of land available for experiments. In addition this series contains reports from other faculty members in the agronomy department including W. B. Kemp, Lewis E. Erdman, O. C. Bruce, Geary Eppley, and W. B. Posey. There is also a history of the Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Tobacco Experiment Station from 1940.
