Arrhenius, Svante August FILE MISSING [(1859-1927). Swedish chemist and physicist, who also wrote on cosmology and geophysics. He received the 1903 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his theory of electrolytic dissociation in solutions. SGB was interested in his writings on the theory, held by several scientists at the end of the 19th century, that the central part of the Earth is filled by a supercritical gas (NE 131-2, 170-72; FE 47-48).] -- NOTE: File contains correspondence with T.J.J. See, 1906-1927; and with Gustav Tammann, 1888-1926; originals are at the Library of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Stockholm. Also includes correspondence between SGB and staff of the library, 1976.
