Domestic and Foreign Sites, 1968-2003
This series contains materials related to Gayle's research and activism related to cast- iron structures across the United States and abroad. This series provides insight into the range of Gayle's knowledge and activism. Gayle collected a substantial amount of material on cast iron in most states in the U.S. and a smaller amount on cast iron in Europe, Russia, Latin America, Canada, and the Caribbean. Gayle's notes from her article on Berlin's Kreuzberg Memorial are included in this series. Also included are her materials related to the preservation of a statue of Henry Clay in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Materials in this series include correspondence, photographs and slides, published articles and research notes, and newspaper clippings.Arrangement is alphabetical by geographic location.
