Correspondece, Working Papers, and Publications, 1945-1995 and undated
Series one contains correspondence, work papers, publications, and interrogations written or compiled by Jerome Forrest. The bulk of the correspondence is between Gordon W. Prange and Jerome Forrest and concerns their ongoing research projects involving pre-World War II and post-World War II Japan as well as Forrest's enrollment at the University of Maryland. The work papers concern Forrest's editorial work as well as his personal edits on his own material, which relates primarily to U.S. involvement in Japan and the Far East. His publications focus on General MacArthur's efforts in Japan after World War II during the U.S. occupation of the country. The series also contains publications and reports related to Japanese governance and reports about Japan published by the U.S. government that were used as reference materials in Forrest's work.
