John H. Daniels, 1863-1864
Series Three contains six letters from John Daniels, a Union soldier who served on a gunboat near Point Lookout in Company B of the Second Regiment of the New Hampshire Volunteers. He was later severely wounded at Cold Harbor on June 3rd, 1864 before being discharged in May 1865. His letters are addressed to his brother and sister and contain vivid accounts of battles, war news, and details of camp life. Materials are arranged in chronological order.
