Brazal Family, 1975-1958

Silvestre Braga Brazal (1906-1995) served as a steward in the U.S. Navy beginning in 1928. Silvestre married Helen McGonagle in 1947 and they had two daughters, Elena and Monica. Helen was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post #5471 and Monica later served as its president (1).

The digitized photographs are official U.S. Navy release photographs of Chief Petty Officer Silvestre Brazal taken at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. One includes a group of sailors and officers and the other includes President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Chief Petty Officer Salvador.
