Subseries 1 contains newspaper clippings about Gompers regarding a commemorative stamp the postal service issued in 1950 on the hundredth anniversary of his birth. Please note that the materials labeled "Newspaper Clippings: End Pieces, 1890s and 1901-1905 contain pieces/sections of news articles that could not fit entirely in the scrapbooks entitled "Newspaper Clippings, ca. 1890s" and "Newspaper Clippings from Boston, 1901-1905". There is also a photo scrapbook of a trip to Mexico and California.
All items in this subseries are fragile.
