George Meany, 1934-1970s
Sub-Series
The scrapbooks in subseries 2 range from photo albums which show Meany receiving honorary doctorates or being feted at testimonial dinners, to scrapbooks that detail several trips he took while in office at the AFL-CIO. A FRAGILE scrapbook from 1934 contains newspaper clippings about the New York Federation of Labor and Meany's role as its leader. Also included is a photo album of images from the first moon landing in July 1969.

Conditions Governing Access
The scrapbook in Subseries 1: Samuel Gompers is too fragile to handle. Researchers should request microfilm Reel 5 to view contents of scrapbook. Original scrapbooks in all other subseries are in good condition and can be requested.
