This series consists of subject files on the United Nations. Correspondence pertains to ILO delegations to the U.N.'s General Assembly and the AFL's interaction with the U.N. on the matter of human rights and United Nations Day in general. Correspondence also relates to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the World Health Organization (WHO) in particular. The majority of printed material originated with the U.N.; the majority of near print material originated with the United States Delegation to the United Nations, the United States Mission to the United Nations and ECOSOC.

Material types include: correspondence, pamphlets, posters (separated to Series 8), press releases, resolutions, reports, minutes, and periodicals.
