Chronological Files, 1941-1951

 Sub-Series

The subseries from 1941-1951 contains Shishkin's daily phone log from 1941-1944, as well as AFL economic research correspondence and reports from 1941-1948 with 1946 and 1948 providing the most material. From 1948 to early 1951 Shishkin served in Paris as Director, European Labor Division, Economic Cooperation Administration (ECA, Marshall Plan) and his correspondence, although not extensive, is often marked confidential. Most of his letters with AFL President William Green date from this period. Much of the remaining ECA material documents Shishkin's trips to various European countries, with items assessing the situation in Turkey having the widest scope.
