Correspondence and Promotion Materials

 Series 1

This series consists of correspondence and publicity materials. The majority of the correspondence is addressed to Robert J. Wentworth, AFL-CIO assistant director of public relations. The correspondence primarily addresses the satisfaction of unions and union leaders with the Americans at Work series, particularly the program(s) pertaining to their particular union employees. Other correspondence is addressed to Phil Martin and Albert Zack. In addition to correspondence, there are several news articles announcing the series, particularly the AFL-CIO News and individual union newspapers. Several articles from union newspapers also feature the particular film highlighting its members. Clippings from Variety magazine and Film World include brief notes about the Americans at Work series. A distribution list dated October 1959 provides information about the television stations across the country that aired the series.
