Economic Cooperation Administration, 1948-1952
Series 1 documents Meany's and the AFL's concern with reconstruction in Europe after World War II, specifically the performance of the ECA which administered the Marshall Plan.
The series is composed of two groups of materials: Geographical Files, and Statements and Reports. Types of material in this group include personal letters, telegrams, and official and unofficial reports.

The Geographical Files are arranged alphabetically by country name. In several cases files are arranged by name of the individual reporting to Meany or by subject (such as Ship Ruling).
Statements and Reports are arranged chronologically by date of receipt.
